DETSS students from second year have selected a team to take part in the Educate Together Debating Competition for 2021. The competition has been running for several years and has become tantamount with a high standard of entries, speeches, and students involved in the adjudicating. The competition is for junior cycle students to encourage confidence in literacy and oral speech. The competition also encourages teamwork and research skills for junior students.
A team of 8 were selected from a group of second year students this week Students had to present a short video opposing the following motion Online learning is better than in person school to prepare for the debate. The final team of 4 will be selected later this week, with the First Round beginning later this week.
